The city of Geneva, IL is located within Kane County, on the western side of Chicago. Together, with Batavia and Charles, it forms a tri-city area.

Schools in Geneva
Geneva Community Unit School District (CUSD) 304 is responsible for Geneva’s public school system.
Around 6,000 students attend classes at one of the district’s ten schools, including one preschool, six elementary schools, two middle schools, and a single high school with a reputation for excellence.
CUSD was recently awarded an A+ overall grade, according to Niche’s 2020 ranking, and was named Kane County’s best school district.

Geneva Community High School boasts an impressive graduation rate of over 99%, with 85% of graduates continuing on to college.
The high school offers over 100 courses in 11 academic areas, as well as 17 Advanced Placement (AP) courses and 20 Honors courses.
The school also gives students the chance to participate in 24 different sports and over 50 clubs, honor societies, and organizations.
There are several private schools located in Geneva, including Mansio Mens Montessori School, Faith Christian Academy, and Kensington School – Geneva, which offers PreK and K students an innovative educational experience that incorporates all aspects of their development.

With more than 50 parks located within the city, Geneva offers residents tons of opportunities for outdoor fun.
One of the largest, 57-acre Wheeler Park has something for everyone, including a baseball diamond, tennis courts, soccer fields, children’s playground, a miniature golf course, disc golf course, multiple hiking and biking trails, and ice rinks for hockey and ice skating during the cold winter months.

Island Park is definitely a favorite of Geneva residents. In addition to being one of the city’s most commonly used locations for community events, such as the Fox Valley Folk Music & Storytelling Festival and Shakespeare in the Park, the 11.5-acre park has lots of wide-open green space for running around, an elaborate children’s playground designed to resemble a treehouse and equipped with multiple slides, climbing options, and a mini zipline.
Plenty of trails for visitors to explore, which meander through the woods and along the Fox River, shaded benches, and the chance to take in lots of waterfowl in their natural habitat.

In Geneva, the winters tend to be extremely cold, windy, and accompanied by snow, at least during the months of January and February.
Winter temperatures are rarely higher than 41°F, with the average daily high a mere 30°F. The city has permanent plans in place to make certain that the roads stay clear and safe during periods of accumulation.
The summer months tend to be warm, wet, and long, with an average daily high of 73°F. During these months, it’s not uncommon for the city to experience rain showers, though they rarely last all day.
